"It was announced today that Microsoft and Salesforce.com have formed a global strategic partnership. You know Microsoft, and Salesforce.com (which I affectionally call the sales person firing tool), are a major presence in the enterprise market. Why can't we be friends, why can't we be friends, why can't we be friends....

Sorry I got caught up listening to my War music on Spotify. Anyway, it was announced today that Microsoft and Salesforce.com have formed a global strategic partnership. You know Microsoft, and Salesforce.com (which I affectionally call the sales person firing tool), are a major presence in the enterprise market. With Microsoft having inroads into every aspect of the enterprise, and Salesforce.com the driving application in lead management. This deal is going to provide tighter integration into Microsoft Office and Windows with Salesforce.com

"We are excited to partner with salesforce.com and help customers thrive in a mobile and cloud-first world," said Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft. "Working together we'll deliver new solutions that connect the customer insights of Salesforce to the cloud productivity of Office 365, the cloud platform of Azure and the mobility of Windows, so our customers can do more."

"Today is about putting the customer first," said Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO, salesforce.com. "Together with Microsoft, we are building bridges that allow customers to be more productive."

The companies plan to provide integration and support for Windows, and Windows Phone, as well as Office 360.
